Take the "trip of a lifetime" down the world-famous Lower Gorge of Grand Canyon. This three or four day trip provides a wide variety of excitement starting with raging white water rapids, to floating and relaxing in the smooth current of the Colorado River. Amazing hikes up side canyons to beautiful vistas and cascading waterfalls fill the days with action pack on and off water activities.

Sit back enjoy the view and let us do all the rowing. We will navigate the Colorado River in sizeable 16 foot oar rafts providing plenty of room for you and your gear. In addition, inflatable kayaks add an extra level of adventure for those wishing to get closer to the action.

Enjoy a true taste of Canyon hospitality including gourmet meals, beach camping and fireside entertainment. Our guides keep the trip safe and fun providing every level of comfort to make your back country experience as memorable as it can be.

On the standard 1-6 scale of white water rapids this trip will take you through the smallest of riffles to some of the raging class IV rapids that make the Colorado River through Grand Canyon famous. Hold on tight for the ride of your life!

LOWER GRAND CANYON RAFTING EQUIPMENT LIST
Keep in mind that it gets very hot in the canyon and there can be very little shade at times. We recommend long, light layers to protect from the sun. Old long sleeve, cotton, dress type shirts are great for keeping cool and keeping the sun off. Also, it may get rather cool in the evenings, so bring a few warm layers. River dry-bags will be supplied for personal items along with sleeping bag, tent and tarp, sleeping pad with a bed sheet, splash gear and a souvenir coffee mug.

River shoes (Teva-type sandals or old tennis shoes – We will be doing hikes from the river, so it is important that your footwear will have good traction.)

RIVER GUIDES WILL HAVE FIRST-AID KITS WITH BASIC OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS (IBUPROFEN, ANTI-DIARRHEALS, ANTI-HISTAMINES). IF YOU ARE TAKING PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION, PLEASE BRING ENOUGH TO COVER YOU FOR THE 3 or 4 -DAY TRIP PLUS A 3 or 4 -DAY BACK-UP.
Fort Tuthill will provide: water, coffee, tea, and powdered gator-aid for beverages. Feel free to bring your own soda, beer, or other beverages. There is no need to bring a cooler or ice, we have methods of keeping them cool. For those of you who wish to bring alcohol please transfer it to a plastic bottle and wine drinkers should consider bagged wine… Please No Glass !!!
